Press Brake Operator

Full Time Position

Cashco, Inc. presently has one day shift position open for a Press Brake Operator

In this position the machine operator takes care of all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, loading, operating the machine, and optimizing the machine capability. They need to ensure that the machine works at its full capacity, oversee its maintenance, and perform timely quality checks. You must know how to read blueprints to determine the measurements of each product and operate the press brake to cut and bend the materials into the shape according to specifications. Once the pieces are done, you will check to make sure they are the correct size and shape. You should have previous experience with press machine operation, whether through steel manufacturing or sheet metal work. Our ideal candidate has a relevant certificate and several years of experience working with CNC equipment.

Responsibilities:
• Operate press break machine.
• Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches.
• Use a CNC controller to input information into machine.
• Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints.
• Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
• Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake.
• Work with tight tolerances.
• Produce parts for assembly operations.
• Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.
• Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications.
• Perform spot inspections of parts.
• Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures.
• Complete and maintain paperwork.
• Identify assembly parts.
• Set up light gauge metal.
• Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum & regular steel).
• Check machine for defects and repair if necessary.
• Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned.
• Read drawings and blueprints.

Requirements:
• High school or equivalent
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Extensive experience operating a press brake
• Able to read a blueprint
• Attention to detail
• Experience using measuring instruments
• Work in strict adherence to guidelines
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
