Ellsworth, KS — A fresh look and renewed sense of identity now greet visitors to the Ellsworth Health and Recreation Center, thanks to a collaborative signage project between the Ellsworth Recreation Center and Cashco.
The initiative began when Recreation Director Ron Tenbrink sought to enhance the visibility of the newly renovated facility.
“I was looking for a way to add some signage to the renovated Ellsworth Health and Recreation Center and I know Cashco did some signage for the school district, so that is where I got the idea to connect with Cashco,” Tenbrink said. “The goal was to have visible signage from the road so that people knew what the building was and I also wanted to attract people’s attention to the building.”
Lexi Stefek, Multimedia Developer at Cashco, led the design effort.
“I aimed for a clean, easy-to-read design that also proudly showcases Ellsworth Bearcat spirit through the bold use of red and black,” Stefek said.
The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive.
“Everyone has loved the new signage,” Tenbrink said. “It’s easy to read and well done.”
Cashco provided the resources to print and produce the signs, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local initiatives and community pride.
“The most rewarding part of the process was seeing the signs in-person,” Stefek said. “It’s surreal to see my work displayed in the community I grew up in.”
The new signage stands as a symbol of collaboration, creativity and community investment—welcoming residents and visitors alike to a space dedicated to health, wellness and recreation.
